Military Life
It all started back in November 2012. I was 7 months pregnant with our 2nd baby when the hubby left for basic training. We decided to join the army and see where it would take us. I was due December 29th 2012 and luckily he got to come home for Christmas and was able to see her born. He only got to spend 2 days with her and had to leave to finish basic training. So it wasn't until March 2013 until we moved down to Texas and finally got to be with him. So here I was a 2 year old and a 3 month old headed for the plane ride all by myself! We went to Hawaii in 2011 and had only one kid with us which was fine but two? I didn't know how I was gonna do it. But I just made sure I had snacks, Milk, juice and some sort of entertainment for my 2 year old. Color crayons, coloring book, sticker book and her leap pad. And he headed for the door of the plane. It was also the hardest thing to do was walking away from my home place, leaving my friends and family behind and not certain when I would ever see them again. I didn't fight the tears. This sort of thing you just let happen. Luckily when we arrived in Texas my dad was waiting there for me and picked us up. The hubby was in school mode and was not aloud to leave base for a couple more months.I got to spend some one on one time for a week with my dad and loved every moment of it! I would do it all over again just to get that week with him again! So the girls and I stayed in a hotel on base for a month until our house on base was ready. ( You do this a lot when your in the military, always living out of hotels.) We finally got our house but the hubby was still about a month away from moving in with us. It sucked but I got to go visit him at the barracks each night after he was done with his duties. So fast forward a month and he is finally home. We were stationed in San Antonio Texas and I have to say I did not enjoy it. Its got a dry hot humid climate and its flat and dry. we weren't aloud to travel outside of 30 miles due to school status so we didn't get to go to the beach or go see another part of Texas. My grandma and aunt ended up coming to visit for a week which was super nice. There from Missouri so it was only a days in a half drive. Totally drivable.
